Queensland Music Festival (QMF) Artistic Director and internationally renowned musician, James Morrison, led 7,224 musicians in the World’s Biggest Orchestra on Saturday 13 July at Suncorp Stadium, smashing the previous world record of 6,452 set by Vancouver Symphony in 2000.

QMF is now thrilled to announce that our official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt was successful.

Conducted by James Morrison himself, musicians young and old performed a medley of tunes including Banjo Paterson's iconic Waltzing Matilda, Beethoven's Ode to Joy and Queen's We Will Rock You with crowds of supporters who lined Suncorp Stadium to cheer them on.

QMF now holds the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the 'Largest Orchestra' and The Australian Book of Records title for the 'Largest Brass Ensemble', 'Largest Woodwind Ensemble', 'Largest Clarinet Ensemble' and 'World's Largest Orchestra'.

Queensland Music Festival would like to thank our partners, musicians, volunteers, stewards, supervisors and everyone involved in helping us achieve a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title.
